I hand painted these horses greeting each other on a silk scarf. The artwork shows the flowing manes, the connection of the two horses as they go to bumpnoses. The magenta, black, brown and white colors of teh horses seem to reflect their mood. This piece shows the beauty of companionship and the beauty of the horse.
My name is Karla Kay Benjamin. I am an artist that specializes in hand painted silk scarves & wall hangings as well as Dutch Pour/Liquid Acrylic/Abstract Paintings. While I am a native of the PNW, I attended college at Arizona State University and have a BFA with an emphasis in Fiber Arts/Surface Design. I enjoy working on fabric because when the fabric moves it seems to bring the art to life. I enjoy working on silk because of the beautiful way it absorbs the dyes and shimmers when it moves and the light hits it.
